Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 1, 2026 • Version 2.0

1. Introduction & Studio Principles

FailSafe Studio ("we", "our", or "the Studio") is dedicated to engineering fault-tolerant software systems with strict client-side data privacy. This policy outlines how personal and telemetry data is handled across our applications (including LucidWire, AetherTab, Covmt WebDeck, WellSpelled, and Media Deadman Switch) and website (https://failsafe.studio).

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We believe in client-side zero-knowledge engineering. Unless explicitly stated during an opt-in cloud sync operation:

  • We do not track, log, or sell your web browsing history.
  • We do not collect private encryption keys, plaintext passwords, or decrypted vault contents.
  • We do not utilize invasive third-party ad trackers or cross-site tracking beacons.

3. Chrome Web Store Manifest V3 Compliance (AetherTab)

The AetherTab browser extension operates under Google Chrome's Manifest V3 standard. Storage is confined to the local browser storage sandbox (chrome.storage.local / chrome.storage.sync). No new tab data is transmitted to external servers without explicit user authentication.

4. Google Play Developer Compliance (Media Deadman Switch, WellSpelled & Mobile Tools)

Applications distributed via the Google Play Store (published under our developer identity FailSafe Studios / FailSafe Studio) adhere strictly to Google Play Developer Program Policies. For Media Deadman Switch, all encrypted vault payloads, recipient escrow configurations, and automated heartbeat timers execute client-side or utilize zero-knowledge cryptographic safeguards where plaintext media is never accessible to studio infrastructure. For WellSpelled and mobile learning titles, any gamified learning progress or analytics collected are processed locally or anonymized for gameplay leaderboard synchronization.

5. Mobile Messaging & SMS Privacy (Media Deadman Switch)

FailSafe Studio (FailSafe Studios) provides automated, transactional SMS emergency alerts and dispatch notifications for Media Deadman Switch users and their pre-designated emergency contacts.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with, sold to, or disclosed to any third parties or affiliates for promotional or marketing activities. Mobile telephone numbers collected for emergency dispatch and deadman switch verification are utilized strictly to deliver requested security alerts and failsafe status communications.

6. E-Commerce & License Key Processing (FailSafe Foundry)

Software license purchases, commercial seats, and digital orders are processed securely through our dedicated storefront platform, FailSafe Foundry (https://foundry.failsafe.studio), operating as our Merchant of Record. Payments are handled in accordance with PCI-DSS standards via encrypted gateway tokenization. FailSafe Studio never receives or stores raw payment card numbers; our license validation infrastructure stores only order fulfillment statuses, cryptographically signed activation tokens, and account email identifiers required to validate software seat entitlements.

7. Contact & Data Inquiries

For privacy inquiries, data deletion requests, or security audits, contact the studio directly at privacy@failsafe.studio or via our Support Form.
